A piece I did for
Superhero Cocoa's Nova redesign comp. The theme was 'Mythological Nova', the original 70s version of The Human Rocket is another of my favourite Marvel Comics characters and I started designing a Norse version of Richard Rider's alter ego... and then somewhere along the line I drew his famous 'bucket' helmet as a flying helmet. I thought it worked and I finished and coloured the above artwork. It was only when I was submitting it and re-read the brief I realised, I'd messed up and forgotten the mythic element but Superhero Cocoa ran it anyway.
